Subject : Engagement of retired Railways employees on daily remuneration basis.

            Please refer to Board's letter No. E(NG)-II/97/RC-4/8, dated 3.2.1998 (Bahri's 24/98, p. 23) regarding revision of rates for engagement of retired Railway employees on daily remuneration basis. On a clarification sought from Western Railway, the issue of rates for engagement of retired Railway employees in Offices/ Workshops observing six days a week with weekly working of 40 hours has been under consideration of the Board. It has now been decided that the effective rates for engagement of retired railway employees in Offices/ Workshops observing six days a week with weekly working of 40 hours will be as under:

        Rs. 3,050 – 4,590 & Rs. 4,000 – 6,000                                         Rs. 71 per day

        Rs. 4,500 – 7,000 & Rs. 5,000 – 8,000                                         Rs. 96 per day

        Rs. 6,500 – 10,5000 & Rs. 7,450 – 11,500                                   Rs. 142 per day

             The above rates will be effective from the date of issue of this sanction letter.

            The rates for offers observing five days week will, however, continue as circulated vide Board's letter dated 3.2.1998.            This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways (Railway Board).
